Raymarine hybrid touch backlight repair. Screen came completly in dark because of backlight problem. Old LEDs out and new one in. But it is not so simple if you want to keep backlight level adjustment.
Here comes the tricky part. Old LEDs are working on around 80V and they are divided on multiple "channels". Max 16826 task is to control LEDs on all channels, monitor overcurrent, communicate with main microcontroller over I2C etc... So we need to "steal" PWM signal from it, and find 12V that are referenced to that specific ground because this board has at least 3 ground which are isolated from each other. Done that, it is not the same brightness as the old one, but because of small space for fitting the LEDs we don't have much options. Good to go and brightness level is also adjustable ![]()
